You are Worthy!

Before I start, take a look at this video:

This is the attitude that so many Christians have.  Because of things we have done in our past or things we are currently dealing with, we feel we’re not worthy to be accepted by the Lord or others.

We think: “After all I have done (or what I just did), how can the Lord love me?”

Whatever have dealt with or are dealing with, we think that we will never live up to the standard in order for the Lord to love us.

We say the Lord’s love is unconditional, but we apply conditions to His love.

This, brothers and sisters, is us placing ourselves under the law once again.  While it may not be the Law of Moses, it is still a standard of what we need to do or should do laid upon us by ourselves or by even the best intentioned religious people.

We condemn ourselves for whenever we don’t live up to our moral standards.  We don’t feel worthy.

The Apostle Paul has the answer to whenever we feel this way in Romans 8:1-4:

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

This condemnation we feel from not living up to whatever standard we place ourselves under is not of the Lord, brothers and sisters!

If you feel condemned or unworthy because of failures, whether past or present, turn to the Lord and know the reality of the love that He has for you!

He loves you beyond all you know!

He finds you worthy of His love, not because of anything you have done or will do, but because you are in Christ!

He loves you so much that does not desire you to stay as you are, but calls you give up all so will further know the depths of the love that He has for you in Christ!

35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all day long;
we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:35-39

If ever you feel unworthy or condemned, ask the Lord for a fresh revelation of the love that He has for you.

Come to know your worth in Christ and how much you are loved by the Lord!

Mark, as I read today in a post I will link below. We have a bloodless Gospel today leaving us with the hangover of guilt and shame. We have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb and it is effective to set us free completely.

I agree that this other post and I are on the same page, albeit approaching it from different angles. I live how he states he tried “to live by restitution, resolution, goodness, merit, and just doing it better.” For the most part in Christianity, we fail to comprehend our identity in Christ, how IN Him we are, and the power of His victory. Since we often fail to recognize this, we try to fix the situation by living out of our life and strength, and since we don’t fully rely on the Lord, our failures still weigh heavy upon on us.

Thanks for sharing that post! I am going to have to check out that website more, as well as Martha Kilpatrick (I have “Adoration” coming in the mail).

Amen and amen! What a reality of Christ you presented, brother! Thank you for that. 🙂
